Cyrus Hamlin, an American Congregational missionary in Istanbul reports a conversation he had with an Armenian in "The Congregationalist" on December 28, 1893. That "very intelligent Armenian gentleman" reveals their plans to Mr. Hamlin. According to the plan, Armenian bands would revolt, kill Turks and Kurds and burn their villages. This would enrage Turks and Kurds, who would then retailate. Russia would come in and take control.
